WELCOME!

Welcome to Ready, Set, Grow Home Daycare! I am a mother of two and a California-credentialed elementary teacher.
My goal is to provide a fun and safe learning environment for your infant or toddler while encouraging their social, emotional, and physical development. Your child will receive quality personal and individualized care in a warm and loving home with a 3:1 child-to-teacher ratio.
My play-based program reflects the belief that learning takes place primarily through exploratory activities and discovery. The play areas have a wide range of materials and developmentally appropriate activities which allow your child to create, manipulate, explore, and discover according to their particular and unique interests.
The long free-play sessions are used as tools for developing social skills, nurturing the ability to share and take turns, and mastering self-directed conflict resolution. Rather than having a set agenda for what the children should learn or the activities they will participate in for the day, I allow the children to have control over much of their learning. I believe in developing each child's potential, and paying attention to their individual interests and passions. In addition to this individual exploration, we have weekly learning themes. The children participate in group activities around these themes, such as story times, art projects, and field trips.
I have a fully fenced backyard, equipped with fun and safe playing equipment. I provide well-balanced nutritious meals and snacks for your child. I incorporate lots of fun activities into our daily routine that include arts and crafts, music, song and dance, puppet shows, storytime, and more. We go on neighborhood walks and drive to the park and library once a week. Once each month we take a field trip to places like farms, children's museums, and zoos.
My family daycare meets all the requirements established by the State of California Community Care Licensing. Ready, Set, Grow Home Daycare is a licensed and insured home daycare (Facility #434416308).
Please explore this site for detailed information about my program. Be sure to check out the pictures tab to see examples of art projects, outings, and more!

All of my reviews from the parents have been 5 star reviews. Since Yelp uses an algorithm that takes out reviews written by people who don't do lots of reviews, I have copied and pasted each review from Yelp before it could be taken down.
Posted on 9/2/14 (5 Stars): As a first time mom, leaving your 4 month old for the first time in the care of another is nerve racking and uncomfortable. There are so many unknowns but Amanda and her home day care was amazing!
First off, her home had a great set up for the kids. A great backyard, piano, lots of books and toys, and the infant room was set up perfectly. The house is very clean and has plenty of space. Second, Amanda was always welcoming and engaging. I was pretty sure that I was going to stop by at lunches to check up on my girl but from the first day on, I felt confident that my girl was having fun at the day care. I didn't stop by during the day once.
Amanda sent me daily pictures, gave me full updates at each pick up and as a bonus, on the days she baked, I got a slice. Delicious - that's another review. In the month my girl was with Amanda, she played the piano, went on walks, hung out in the backyard on swings, played with bubbles and home made playdough, did artwork (which i have in my office) and lots of interaction with other kids.
I changed some things around with work and am now able to watch my girl at home but in hindsight, I wish I kept my normal hours. I think my baby girl will miss her friends at the day care and Amanda (Amanda has two great kids who were so gentle and great with my baby) and all the fun activities Amanda had for her.
A small part of me wants to keep Amanda and her daycare a secret so she doesn't have a long waitlist if my work/home situation changes. If you're looking for a fun, reliable, and safe daycare - this is the place.

Leaving your baby with a stranger when you return to work can be a very stressful time. This is my second baby, and my third daycare. I had to find a new daycare for my son because my older daughter's daycare didn't have an infant opening this year. I was very nervous about leaving him with a new provider, my daughter's first daycare had a lot of problems. They never seemed to listen to my concerns, and would constantly disregard my instructions.
Amanda's daycare has been a completely different experience for me. I never feel uneasy when my son is in her care. I get periodic texts/photos of his day, and I can see that he is well cared for and happy.
The previous reviewer was spot on with the quality of the daycare. Amanda does everything I would aspire to do if I were staying home with my kids: pinterest crafts, homemade purees, finger paints, sensory bins, and more. Lately, she has added field trips and regular outings to the schedule. On nice days, they go to the park. Last month the big trip was to the Children's Discovery Museum.
I enthusiastically recommend Ready, Set, Grow for your little one.

We found that in Amanda's day care.
Our eight month-old daughter has been going to Amanda for three months. She's happy, well cared for.
As mentioned in a previous review the kids are exposed to books, fancy art projects, learning activities, trips to the park, and special trips.

You never have to wonder what your child did all day because Amanda sends each child home with a "daily report card" telling you what time and for how long your child took a nap, what they ate for lunch, when they used the potty, etc.
Amanda, being a former school teacher, has the patience it takes to deal with multiple kids at one time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good daycare.
Posted on 2/9/2015 (5 Stars): Our 26 month old son has been with Ready, Set Grow Home Daycare for nearly 6 months now and we are extremely happy there. The "home daycare" environment is something that was very important to us when we chose Amanda. It has been so much more than that for our son. They have weekly themes for the children which Amanda keeps up to date on her website, and they are constantly doing new learning and craft projects that the kids bring home. Amanda's background as a teacher is evident. It is quite a joy to hear our son sing new songs, count to a new number, or talk about things that we know he learned there.
The weekly field trips is also something that is unique and fun for the kids. When the weather is nice, they go to a park at least once a week. They also go on a "special" field trip at least once a month, including local Zoos, Children's Discovery Museum, etc. e feel extremely lucky to have found Amanda to help with caring for our son.
Updated on 9/15/2017: And now our 16 month old daughter is attending (for the past 10 months) and we couldn't be happier with the care she gets there. Everyone who works there is so sweet to our baby girl, and she is excited to go every morning!
Posted on 6/30/2016 (5 stars): My son was 2 when we were looking for a child care. I did my research based on what my child needed and we found Amanda's daycare a perfect fit. The home feel environment with learning through play helped my son develop social and emotional skills. I can tell he is happy and learning as he is growing because he is motivated to go even in the weekends. I have to tell him that Amanda is closed on the weekends! Amanda and his friends at day care became his world of fun, experience and learning. It's been almost 1 year for our son there and we are very pleased with the care and attention he gets. We are confident in Amanda and her programs in keeping the children happy and engaged. They have trips to the park/library/museums/pumpkin patch/fire stations/dentist etc which worried us a little bit in the beginning but since we already know that Amanda is good at making sure the places they go is safe and she has enough help whenever they go, it made our son's experience to see the real world spectacular every time. Also, the food at Amanda's is great and healthy. I don't have to worry even though my son is very picky. I highly recommend Amanda for a well balanced day care for your child!
Posted on 8/12/2018 (5 Stars): Our son - now 2 - started at Amanda's daycare when he was 6 months old. We feel so lucky that we found Amanda. She and her staff are very welcoming and caring toward our son. Her daycare is play based and the kids do art projects, sensory play, and outdoor activities throughout the day. They do fun excursions to the park and library each week. She plans great events for kids, such as having a dentist office come and share. We love how much he learns each week. She provides nutritious meals throughout the day and I feel my son is a great eater because of all the foods he gets to try at Amanda's. She truly goes above and beyond.
